But the Northfield man, who has driven to each stop on the tour for the past three days, has mostly seen the tailpipe of the Bush bus.

Senate passes Buy American amendment

The U.S. Senate has passed Senator Mark Dayton?s amendment to require the newly-created Department of Homeland Security to buy American products when purchasing materials, supplies, and labor. The Minnesota Democrat said his amendment, added Wednesday to the $28.5 billion bill funding the new department, would not only secure American jobs, but also enhance national security.

Minnesota unemployment benefits increase

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development announced Friday that the maximum weekly benefit amount for new unemployment benefit accounts will increase from $467 to $478 effective August 3, 2003.
