Minnesota’s art-makers for the labor movement, the Northland Poster Collective, will celebrate 25 years of arts activism with a cabaret concert Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Ave. So., Minneapolis. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Northwest Airlines and AMFA, the union representing striking Northwest Airlines workers, will resume negotiations Thursday in Minneapolis, both parties announced.
Writer and radio host Garrison Keillor is best known for humorous monologues during his nationally broadcast show, “A Prairie Home Companion.” But at the St. Paul Labor Day picnic Monday, his remarks about the response to Hurricane Katrina were both somber and incisive.
Striking Northwest Airlines workers and their supporters plan to rally Thursday, Sept. 8, outside FAA headquarters to demand “an immediate investigation of serious safety questions surrounding the operations of Northwest Airlines,” they said.
