Unions try to confront insurers over health care

More than 600 people, almost all of them unionists, attempted to confront the nation’s health insurance companies on Oct. 22 over the issue of universal affordable health care — and the insurance companies ducked.

With drums drumming, whistles blowing, and pie tins banging, about 60 protestors visited the Twin Cities offices of health insurer CIGNA Tuesday as part of a national day of action urging the U.S. Senate to adopt health care reform that includes a public option.
