Nutrition Services workers in the St. Paul School District – the lowest paid employees in the district – have voted to authorize a strike if wages aren’t raised in contract negotiations. Their fight adds new urgency to the campaign for a $15 minimum wage in the City of St. Paul.

Minnesota Letter Carrier recognized as humanitarian

Letter Carrier Deborah Ochetti of Burnsville has received the National Association of Letter Carriers’ award as Humanitarian of the Year. She was honored Oct. 4 along with several Letter Carriers from across the nation who were cited as heroes.

U of M faculty announce new direction for organizing campaign

Minnesota Academics United will not pursue an appeal of the state Court of Appeals ruling to divide non-tenure-track and term/tenure-track faculty at the University of Minnesota into separate bargaining units. Instead, the group is pulling the union election for faculty and “moving forward as one united faculty by forming a workers’ association.”
