The state Board of Pardons, which includes Gov. Tim Walz, could vote as early as today on a posthumous pardon for Max Mason, a black man convicted of raping a white woman in Duluth in 1920.

In the middle of a respiratory pandemic, law enforcement agencies have used tear gas in especially dangerous ways. The chemical agent also seeps into homes, contaminates food, furniture, skin and surfaces, and can cause long-term lung damage.
Minneapolis is a very special city, however, and over the next few days, artists authorized and otherwise took to the streets to make lemonade out of lemons.

A sense of optimism in knowing that neighbors and friends had each other back was overshadowed by the heightened and ominous presence of the National Guard and impending white supremacists siege upon the cities.
