Twin Cities artist-activist opens studio

Ricardo Levins Morales, known for promoting the integration of art into organizing campaigns and movements for social justice, is opening his own studio and storefront art center in the Longfellow neighborhood of south Minneapolis.

Operating Engineers Local 49 endorse Anderson Kelliher

After a comprehensive interview and screening process, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 has endorsed Speaker of the House, Rep. Margaret Anderson Kelliher, DFL-Minneapolis, in Minnesota’s 2010 gubernatorial race, the union announced.

Fair trade movement plans ‘Seattle +10 Week of Action’

It’s been 10 years since environmentalists, union members and faith and social justice activists took to the streets of Seattle to protest the convening of the 1999 World Trade Organization. The Minnesota Fair Trade Coalition will mark this anniversary – and champion a positive vision for global trade – with a series of events Nov. 30 to Dec. 5.
