The Minnesota AFL-CIO is hiring a Field Director to work at their headquarters in Saint Paul.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Minnesota AFL-CIO Field Director works with the Campaigns Manager and is responsible for directing grassroots field programs for legislative, political and issue advocacy campaigns, leading teams of leaders and staff from affiliate unions and Area Labor Councils/Regional Labor Federations and allied organizations.
The Field Director is responsible for building a membership development program that results in increased volunteer member participation through a multi-union, statewide leadership development and training program. The Director is tasked with continuing to strengthen accountability structures that result in more member and results-driven programs that advance our shared social and economic justice goals.
The Field Director manages the State Federation’s Labor Action Network (LAN) account and voter file data; coordinating the approvals process with the National AFL-CIO, state unions and ALCs/RLFs; establishing statewide data processes, including tracking and reporting for state campaigns.
The Director mobilizes affiliates, other labor organizations and community partners and allies to execute the campaigns/actions needed to achieve State Federation’s mission.
Additionally, the Field Director develops member-to-member campaigns as needed, carrying out the tasks of targeting, writing and designing materials, setting up approved vendors and ordering materials, and tracking progress. The Field Director collaborates with the Worksite Coordinator to implement campaigns at worksites and union halls around the state.

Vacancy for South East MN AFSCME Council 65 Labor Rep/Organizer
PURPOSE: The Labor Representative/Organizer is responsible for performing a multitude of duties that provide services to AFSCME members and locals in their assigned area with an overall responsibility for empowering our members.
The position will involve serving as a labor representative for a number of local unions. The basic job duties are outlined in the job description.
The geographic assignment area is Southeastern Minnesota.
Applicants must be willing to live within the geographic assignment area. Roughly, this includes the counties of Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Wabasha and Winona. The person hired shall be given 90 days in which to relocate. Specific local assignments shall be as assigned by the Director of AFSCME Council 65.
