Study: Minnesota Apprenticeship Enrollment Up 27% Since 2014

“Minnesota’s registered apprenticeship programs provide participants with job skills that simply cannot be learned in college,” said MEPI Policy Director Frank Manzo. “They offer tuition-free career training that boosts participant earnings by an average of $4,700 per year—nearly double the average for associate’s degree and more than many bachelor’s degrees.”

Minneapolis ESPs contract Negotiation Update

“When fewer than half our members feel they have the respect of the district’s top leadership and nearly 75 percent of ESPs are working at least one other job to make ends meet, it’s easy to understand why so many Minneapolis educators feel underpaid, overworked and ready to leave the district,” said Shaun Laden, president of MFT 59 ESP. “These are issues we can, and must, resolve in our next contract.”
