Cintas violated workers’ rights, NLRB says

After 18 months of investigation, the General Counsel of the National
Labor Relations Board has found merit in charges that uniform laundry
giant, Cintas Corp., violated federal labor law at 19 facilities
in several states, including Minnesota.

AFSCME, SEIU sign ‘no raiding’ pact

Putting an end, they hope, to conflict in southern California and potential battles elsewhere, AFSCME and the SEIU signed a two-year, “no-raiding” pact, the two unions announced. The agreement also commits the two organizations to joint organizing campaigns.

Protect workers’ rights in the Gulf area, AFL-CIO demands

AFL-CIO President John Sweeney called on the Department of Labor, in a letter to Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, to protect the health and safety of rescue and recovery workers in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, to provide employment assistance to displaced workers, and to ensure that the relief, recovery and rebuilding jobs conform with wage and labor standards.
