“The municipal ID would serve as a valid form of identification in the city of Minneapolis that would benefit multiple communities, including: undocumented immigrants, homeless, GLBTQ, and the broader community,” organizers said.

“A municipal ID would encourage social integration, greater public safety and economic sustainability. Come hear from Miguel Robles, of the Latin American Alliance for the Rights of immigrants, a central organizer in the successful San Francisco and Oakland, CA municipal ID campaigns. Additionally learn about the legal aspects of the campaign with Susana De Leon, immigration attorney in Minneapolis. We will discuss ways to get involved and support the ‘I Am Minneapolis’ campaign as well.”
