Family members of residents are joining striking workers on the picketline as the walkout continues at Guardian Angels nursing home.
Members of United Steelworkers Local 9349 walked off the job at Guardian Angels early Friday in what they describe as an unfair labor practice strike. Local 9349 represents more than 100 workers at the facility, formerly known as Leisure Hill.

To show their support, family members of residents have visited workers on the picketline. The union said it is seeking a fair settlement in line with those reached with other area nursing homes.
The company has repeatedly broken the law, such as failing to provide the union with information that is required for negotiations, engaging in surveillance of union members, and illegally imposing its 'last, best and final' offer, the workers said. The union has filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board.
