A Solidarity Fundraiser for striking Northwest Airlines workers will be held Friday, Sept. 30, at the UFCW Local 789 hall, 266 Hardman Ave., South St. Paul.

Social hour will begin at 6 p.m.; program at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit members of Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association Local 33 who have been on strike at Northwest since Aug. 19. The strikers have no strike fund and are depending on donations and outside jobs to survive during the walkout.

The fundraiser is sponsored by the Twin Cities Northwest Workers Solidarity Committee. It is endorsed by AFSCME Locals 3800 and 3260; the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees; the Service Employees International Union Minnesota State Council and Locals 26, 63, 113 and 284; and United Transportation Union Local 650.
