Hospital workers hold second ‘Bake Sale for Health Care’

As part of an ongoing campaign to get a fair contract, members of Service Employees International Union Local 113 held a “Bake Sale for Health Care” Thursday outside Fairview University Hospital.

More than 3,300 Twin Cities hospital workers have been working without a contract since March 10 after five hospital systems declared an impasse in bargaining. In late April, members of Local 113 delivered a petition to the employer rejecting the offer and urging a return to the bargaining table. No negotiations are scheduled at this time.

Last month, Local 113 members held a “Bake Sale for Health Care” outside Fairview Riverside Hospital. They also are conducting other internal organizing activities to pressure management for a fair contract.
