Immigrant Student Day at the Capitol Feb. 27

More than 800 immigrant students, their allies and advocates are expected to participate, organizers said. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, starting at Central Presbyterian Church, 500 Cedar St., St. Paul, followed by a march to the Capitol.

Students will learn about the Minnesota Dream Act – legislation that will increase immigrant student access to higher education – and they will have a training session on how to talk with legislators. A rally also is planned.

Groups and individuals interested in participating may download fliers in English and Spanish from the website of the Minnesota Immigrant Freedom Network, www.mnfr.org

Group leaders also are asked to RSVP at freedomnetwork@gmail.com or call Juan at 651-287-0660 (1-877-265-8817).
