Community event posters by Ricardo Levins Morales are on display at the May Day Cafe in Minneapolis through Oct. 9. The posters, all made since 2001, were created in collaboration with community and social change organizations, mostly as publicity for events and anniversaries.

Most of the artwork was made combining scratchboard and watercolor. "I hope to encourage artists and organizations to help restore the event-publicity poster to the honored place it's held at times in the past," Levins Morales said.

An artist's opening/reception for the Community Event Posters exhibit will be held Sunday, Sept. 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. The May Day Cafe is located at 3440 Bloomington Ave. S. in Minneapolis.
