Mary Ystesund has announced her retirement as director of the Community Services program of the Minneapolis Central Labor Union Council (CLUC), effective June 30.
Ystesund has served as the Community Services director for 30 years, working with five CLUC presidents over that period.
As part of a national AFL-CIO partnership with United Way, the Community Services program links union members and their families with community resources. In Minneapolis, the Community Services program also runs a food shelf for union members in need.
The CLUC has begun advertising to seek Ystesund's replacement and also plans to expand the scope of the Community Services program.
