Motorcyclists to ride in 21st annual ‘Hawgs for Dogs’ run

This year’s event will be Saturday, July 10 and Sunday, July 11.

The ride began 21 years ago when members of the Machinists union in Minnesota got the idea to take one of their passions — riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles — and dedicate a day of riding to a good cause: raising funds to train guide dogs for the blind.

The ride now is open to riders on all makes of motorcycles.

The registration fee is $35 per rider ($70 with a passenger). Riders must collect a minimum of $300 in pledges for Guide Dogs of America. All riders and passengers registered by July 1 are eligible for a special prize drawing.

Check-in is July 10, from 7:00-8:00 a.m. at Twin Cities Harley Davidson Blaine, 1441 85th Ave. NE, Blaine.

The ride’s destination: the Whitecap Resort in Montreal, Wisconsin. For room reservations: 1-800-933-7669 or 1-715-561-2227. Special rates apply when you say you are with Hawgs for Dogs.
