Musical of Terkel?s ?Working? coming to Landmark

“Working,” a musical adaptation of the ground-breaking book by Studs Terkel, will run Nov. 12-27 at the Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul.

St. Paul’s Lex-Ham Community Theater is staging the production, which adapts the powerful and brutally honest stories of workers telling, in their own words, what they do and how they feel about doing it.

“Working” was a best-selling book by Terkel, a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and journalist known for his innovative approach to oral history. The stage adaptation includes music by Stephen Schwartz and James Taylor.

Lex-Ham Community Theater?s production, directed by Suzanna Winter, features seven Twin Cities actors in multiple roles. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 and 27; 2 p.m. Nov. 14, 21 and 27; and 9 a.m. Nov. 18. Admission is $11 for children, students and seniors age 65 or older; and $14 for others.
