New exhibit tells story of first responders to bridge collapse

The exhibit, which opened June 30, tells the story of the speedy response to rescue the victims of the bridge collapse: within 81 minutes, all survivors had been transported to local hospitals.

Aug. 1 marks the fifth anniversary of the tragedy, which killed 13 people and injured 145 others.

The exhibit includes photographs from the Star Tribune and other sources, as well as rescuers’ written statements and survivors’ written statements and video clips.

The Firefighters Hall and Museum is located at 664 22nd Ave. NE, Minneapolis. Hours are Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and (through Labor Day) Sundays, noon to 4 p.m.
