Cub is promoting the drive with messages printed on both plastic and paper grocery bags, and, at 13 Cub Foods locations, letter carriers — and the public — will be able to drop off donated food. New this year, Cub also will provide tractor trailers at each location.

Last year, the letter carriers\' Minneapolis area food drive collected 970,000 pounds of food, just short of the one million pound goal. "We\'re so close," Branch 9 President Pam Donato said. "We don\'t see ourselves missing it this year."

There are 13 Cub Foods locations in Minneapolis (and surrounding suburbs) that will be remote food collection sites. Letter carriers will use these sites to off load their full postal trucks throughout the day of the drive, as
well as being a convenient day of drive donation drop for the public.
