Union plumbers in St. Paul and Minneapolis will perform an estimated $100,000 worth of plumbing services for free on Saturday, April 2, as part of the annual "Water's Off" Project.
Minor repairs and free inspections will be done for an estimated 100 low-income, senior and disabled homeowners in Ramsey, Hennepin, Dakota and Washington Counties. Plumbers from St. Paul Local 34 and Minneapolis Local 15 ? in cooperation with the Minnesota Mechanical Contractors Association and the Metro Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors ? will conduct safety checks on water heaters and vents, and fix leaky faucets and other problems that waste water and cause household damage.
