Laborers International Union of America President Terence O'Sullivan will be among the speakers at a rally Tuesday in support of striking workers at Cretex Companies.
The rally will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 9:30 a.m. at the Cretex plant site, 7070 Cretex Avenue South, in Shakopee (Hwy 101 near Raceway Park).
Members of Laborers Local 563 are on strike because their employer, Cretex Companies, has threatened to cut retirement benefits roughly 80 percent for employees at the company’s Shakopee, Minn. plant — destroying the dream of a secure retirement for dozens of area households.
O’Sullivan will be joined by Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk, House Speaker Paul Thissen and community, labor and elected leaders at the rally.
