On July 14, dozens of people participated in a first-time script reading of "Remembering Charlie Luth," a play by Christine Frank. In the midst of the historic Pullman strike in 1894, the 28-year-old railroad switchman was killed during an altercation with a rail official in downtown St. Paul. The play dramatizes Luth's life and death, the subsequent murder trial and the responses of the community. The cast included many union and community activists, as well as volunteer professional actors.
