Retirees plan to have fun, raise funds on Saturday

The 13th Annual Fun(d)Raiser of the Minnesota AFL-CIO Retiree Council will be held Saturday, April 16, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 10 Hall, 1681 Cope Ave., Maplewood.

Proceeds support the activities of the council, the umbrella organization of union retiree clubs and local unions with retirees. It provides retired union members and spouses official representation within the Minnesota AFL-CIO and enables retired trade unionists to speak with a unified voice on public policy issues.

The event is open to all and is also an opportunity to mingle and have fun, organizers said. It will feature free food and music.

The fun(d)raiser includes hourly raffles and a statewide raffle with two $500 cash prizes, two $300 cash prizes, and two $150 cash prizes. There also will be a silent auction.
