Last Friday, the companies announced they had issued their final offer. Service Employees International Union Local 26 said the terms were unacceptable because they failed to include affordable health care coverage.
The union, which conducted a one-day walkout Feb. 25 at several security companies, has said it will conduct a full-scale strike if necessary.
Companies involved in the negotiations are ABM Security Services, AlliedBarton Security Services, American Security, Viking Security, and Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. Their workers protect most major office buildings in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul.
