The Southwest Central Labor Council is sponsoring three screenings of the documentary, Wellstone! at the Historic Palace Theater in Luverne on March 11, 12 and 13.
Wellstone!, produced by Hard Working Pictures, follows the life of the late U.S. Senator from Minnesota and his wife, Sheila, from high school days to years spent teaching and organizing at Carleton College in Northfield and finally to the nation's capital.
The Labor Council is planning a reception at the Pizza Ranch after the March 11th show, President Dale Moerke said. "We will have invited guests attending the March 11th screening and encourage labor to attend that night."
The film will be screened at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 13. Tickets are $5, with all net proceeds going to the Southwest Crisis Center.
"Come to greater Minnesota for a fun evening for a good cause!" said Moerke. "If you cannot come, consider buying $50 or $100 worth of tickets and we will give them out to students." Questions or ticket requests can be directed to Moerke by phone at 507-283-2016 or by e-mail at swclc@rconnect.com
