Speakers give viewpoints on immigration in Minnesota

The impact of immigration, new languages and new cultures on Minnesota?s work places will be the subject of a lunchtime seminar Jan. 25, sponsored by the Twin City Area Labor Management Council.

Featured speakers will be Tom Gillaspy, Minnesota?s state demographer since 1979, and Teresa Ortiz, director of Centro Derechos de Laborales at the Resource Center of the Americas.

The event takes place at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE, Columbia Heights. Lunch begins at 11:45 a.m.; speakers will begin their presentations at 12:15 p.m., then take questions afterward.
