Take part in Letter Carriers food drive this Saturday

The May 9 food drive will take place nationwide, organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers. The “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive is the largest one-day food drive in the nation.

In Minneapolis-St. Paul, NALC Branches 9 and 28 have worked to partner with Cub Foods, TCF Bank, local unions and others to help promote the food drive and recruit volunteers.

In addition to the door-to-door pick-ups by NALC members, volunteers from other unions will help staff drop-off locations at 28 selected Cub Foods locations.

To volunteer at the Cub Foods locations, you can go online and find the site nearest you: http://stampouthunger.2harvest.org/volunteer/

You also can make a cash donation online or stop by a TCF branch to donate there. For each $5 donated, Second Harvest Heartland can distribute $45 worth of food and grocery products to the hungry.

NALC aims to collect more than one million pounds of food in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area May 9.
