Union member wins legislative primary

Linda Pfeilsticker, a member of Education Minnesota, won the DFL primary in Minnesota House District 28B with 1,050 votes. DFLer Wes Moreland garnered 147.

Union members played a key role in turning out the vote, the Minnesota AFL-CIO said.

Pfeilsticker faces Republican Steve Drazkowski in the Aug. 7 special election to fill the seat vacated by longtime lawmaker Steve Sviggum, who was appointed to a position in Gov. Tim Pawlenty\’s administration.

Union members hope to "replace outgoing Republican Representative Steve Sviggum with a union member who will stand with working families," the Minnesota AFL-CIO said.
