Unions seek volunteers to aid in flood relief efforts

Volunteers are particularly needed to help in the rebuilding effort before winter sets in. The Southeast Minnesota Area Labor Council is seeking volunteer carpenters, painters, water-proofers, plumbers and clean-up volunteers on Oct. 13-14.

Contact SE ALC staffer, Liz McLoone before 5 p.m. on Oct. 9 so that the volunteer coordinators in these areas know how many people are coming and what skills they have. Reach Liz at lmcloone@mnaflcio.org or 507-254-9249.

The United Way of Olmstead County is also coordinating volunteers through its website, www.uwolmsted.org
