Unions will celebrate the life and work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with a special breakfast program Monday, Jan. 19, at the St. Paul Labor Centre.
The program will run from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. at the Labor Centre, 411 Mahoney (aka Main St.) Doors open at 7 a.m.
Speakers will include Barbara Ronningen, a state demographer, who will discuss economic trends for workers. Participants also will be able to watch a live broadcast of the celebration at the Minneapolis Convention Center featuring civil rights activist Vernon Jordan.
A free continenal breakfast will be provided. After the program, participants will join the 10:30 a.m. march from Central High School to the Gangelhoff Center at Concordia University.
