The Communications Workers of America will lead a rally to protest job cuts by AT&T on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at noon in front of the AT&T Tower, corner of 9th and Marquette in downtown Minneapolis.
CWA Secretary-Treasurer Barbara Easterling and AFL-CIO President John Sweeney will participate in the demonstration, to call attention to the outsourcing of jobs. AT&T is planning to cut some 10,000 positions nationally by year-end, the union said.
Organizations supporting Tuesday's protest include the Minneapolis Central Labor Union Council, AFL-CIO.
