Make a donation to a good cause and come home with something useful or fun. This year's United Way silent auction will be Thursday, June 2, and Friday, June 3 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in Room 550 of the United Labor Centre, 312 Central Ave., Minneapolis.

All proceeds from the United Way silent auction will benefit the Greater Twin Cities United Way and the Labor Community Services program (a partnership between the United Way, the Minneapolis Central Labor Union Council, Saint Paul Area Trades and Labor Assembly, and Minnesota Teamsters Joint Council 32).

In the past, more than $3,000 has been raised from this annual fundraiser. Labor Community Services and United Way 2-1-1 offer a variety of programs and services for union members and their families in time of need, including counseling, dislocated worker programs, career development, emergency food shelves, emergency services, and domestic abuse therapy and shelters.
