In Minnesota, President Barack Obama leads the labor-endorsed ticket along with U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar. Voters also will be choosing Minnesota’s eight members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Minnesota voters will be voting, too, for the entire Minnesota House and Senate, following redistricting earlier this year. The state’s labor movement sees winning back a pro-labor majority in the legislature as the top priority of the 2012 election.
The Minnesota AFL-CIO endorses a “no” vote on two constitutional amendments on the November 6 ballot, one restricting the right to vote and one limiting the freedom to marry.
City, county and school races also will be on the ballot. In addition, in some areas people will be voting on levies to fund public schools.
