The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Science Museum of Minnesota, 120 W. Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul. It features an awards banquet, cash bar and music. Cathy Wurzer of Minnesota Public Radio and Twin Cities Public Television will emcee the program after a dinner and networking session.

"There is a lot to celebrate about women\’s presence in Minnesota\’s workforce," said Consortium Board Chair Jen Patterson. "We get to shine a spotlight on stellar and enduring achievements by women who are creating environments that are productive, cost-efficient and humane."

Dubbed Celebration 27, the event is the annual birthday party for the nation\’s largest and longest-established statewide network for women. MWC was established in 1980 to foster a cultural commitment to women\’s equality. The organization now acts as a central agent for connecting 165 member groups, together representing an estimated 300,000 Minnesotans.

Celebration 27 is open to the public. Cost is $40 in advance, $45 at the door. Younger women may "pay their age." For example, a 23-year-old pays $23. For tickets or more information, call 651-228-0338, or go to www.mnwomen.org
