“Then join fellow Minnesotans at the Capitol Thursday, May 19, through Monday, May 23, to tell legislators to stop the attack on working people and to protect the middle class.”
Participants will observe conference committees and floor sessions as legislators make vital choices on the state budget and other issues. Minnesota faces a $5 billion state budget deficit, with the Republican-controlled Legislature and DFL Governor Mark Dayton far apart on a resolution.
Anyone interested in participating is asked to check in at the AFL-CIO office, 175 Aurora Ave., St. Paul, for a briefing and assignment, then go to the Capitol where guides will be available. For more information, call Candace Lund at 651-227-7647 or 1-800-642-9004.
