AFSCME Council 65 is Hiring

AFSCME Council 65 has two open positions for dynamic organizers after a series of retirements. 
 
Executive Director Serena Vergin explained, “Our work to prepare for the recent Janus Supreme Court decision has allowed us to continue to grow and thrive in the MN labor movement.”
 
AFSCME Council 65 represents over 14,000 members across Minnesota and South Dakota. Council 65  represents both public and private sector units. 16 labor representatives service  420+ groups and contracts with offices in Nashwauk, St Cloud and Sioux Falls, SD.
 
There are currently two openings for labor representative/organizer positions. One based in West Central MN and another organizer covering groups along I35 from Duluth to Pine City. Both positions are responsible for all levels of representation for AFSCME members. These positions are responsible for:  bargaining contracts, representing members in grievance and discipline hearings, attend labor management and insurance meetings, assist with officer and leadership development and promote internal and external organizing in their regions.
