All are welcome at Union Jobs Fair

The Northwest Suburbs Community Labor Coalition and Working Partnerships are hosting a Union Jobs Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 27. A variety of union employers and union training and apprenticeship programs will participate in the employer panels and hiring event.
The fair will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pipefitters JAC Training Center, 6200 Lakeland Ave. N., Brooklyn Park.
“We know you get the best information directly from the people that are currently hiring in these industries,” organizers said. “Employers and exhibitors at the event will guide you regarding the steps needed to take to apply for a union job at their company or in a specific trade or profession.
“We want you to understand your options, make the right decisions, and know how and where you need to apply to get started. Employers will provide information on programs of study, schooling, credentials, or experience when interviewing candidates.”
The Northwest Suburbs Community Labor Coalition includes representatives from: African Career Education Services (ACER), CAPI USA, Greater Twin Cities United Way, Think Again Minnesota, SEIU Healthcare Minnesota, UFCW Local #653, Organization of Liberians in MN (OLM), NWS Hmong Community, Brooklyn Park Human Rights Commission, People of Color Union Members (POCUM), Education Minnesota Osseo, Liberian Health Initiative, and Hennepin County.
