Delegates come from a variety of unions, from asbestos workers to roofers, representing more than 50,000 people. Representatives also will attend from the 10 regional councils located around the state.
This year, delegates will celebrate several legislative successes, including passage of bills to promote "best value" contracting and crack down on the illegal misclassification of workers as independent contractors. The Building Trades also signed the largest project labor agreement in state history, to expand the Mall of America.
