Cafeteria workers at Federal Reserve join union

Workers at the employee cafeteria located inside the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis have organized with UNITE HERE Local 17, the union reported.

Local 17 had a card check neutrality agreement with Compass Group, the cafeteria’s operator.

“We turned the cards in and they recognized us,” said Martin Goff, Local 17’s senior vice president. The card count took place May 5. The new bargaining unit will include 18 workers at the cafeteria.

“The workers’ issues are the normal ones: money and health care,” Goff said.
