Collective bargaining class offered in March

The University of Minnesota Labor Education Service is offering a three-session course on collective bargaining in March.

Collective Bargaining 1 & 2 will be held Tuesdays, March 7, 14, and 21, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the University’s Minneapolis campus. It is open to all.

The course is for new bargaining committee members and others who want to understand the process of bargaining a contract.  It will cover preparing for bargaining, including surveying members and conducting bargaining research; creating proposals and counterproposals; negotiations tactics and strategies; and building power through member and community engagement. It also features a collective bargaining simulation that allows participants to put their new skills into practice.

Tuition is $100. Call 612-624-5020 or go to the LES website to register.
