Ellison to headline graduate student union rally

The rally will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Mississippi Room of Coffman Memorial Union on the East Bank of the university’s Minneapolis campus.

During the current academic year, a majority of the university’s 4,500 graduate research and teaching assistants have signed cards to form a union. The university declined to recognize the union based on the majority of cards and is interfering with the workers’ right to organize, the union said.

Ellison has spoken out frequently in support of worker rights.
