EVENT: The Future of Labor in Minnesota

This Wednesday students and alumni of the Masters of Advocacy and Political Leadership (MAPL) program are hosting a panel discussion and dessert reception focusing on the “Future of Labor In Minnesota.”

2018 is shaping up to be an unprecedented year for workers.

The outcome of the 2018 Governor race locally and the midterm elections nationally will dramatically impact workers’ ability to organize and advance their rights in the workplace.

As we have reported labor unions are up against billionaires at the  U.S. Supreme Court in Janus v. AFSCME Council 31. The case threatens to diminish the power of public sector unions to represent all workers.

These and other topics will be discussed this Wednesday.

The panel will be moderated by:
Bree Halverson, BlueGreen Alliance, MAPL alumni and instructor

Panelists Include

Jamie Gulley, SEIU Healthcare MN
Lina Jamoul, MAPE
Don Mullin, St. Paul Building and Construction Trades
Uriel Perez-Espinoza, UNITE HERE
