St. Paul Firefighters Local 21 and the St. Paul Police Federation are co-sponsoring an outdoor benefit Nov. 11 for families of victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

'Every penny will go to firefighters, police officers and EMTs' in New York City, said Local 21 president Dick Leitner. As word has spread, he said, 'it just keeps growing. Everything is being donated.'

The benefit, dubbed 'Guns and Hoses,' will last from noon till 10 p.m. in the parking lots of O'Gara's Bar and Grill and Liberty State Bank, at Snelling and Selby Avenues. The event begins with a booya cook-off between police and firefighters. At 3 p.m., giant screens will show the Vikings-Philadelphia Eagles football game. These events are free.
