Bill Moore, chief of staff for the Minnesota AFL-CIO, will be part of what promises to be a hard-hitting and educational panel discussion Oct. 6 on "Social Security: Will It Be There for You?"
The event also features David Hage, an editorial writer for the Star Tribune, and Tim Penny, former Congressman and a senior fellow at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Policy Forum. Penny was a member of President George W. Bush's hand-picked commission to "reform" Social Security.
The free forum pledges to present differing opinions on how to fix Social Security. It takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the O'Shaughnessy Education Center Auditorium on the University of St. Thomas' St. Paul campus. The center is just west of Cleveland Ave., near Portland Ave.
The forum is sponsored by the Financial Planning Association of Minnesota, the membership organization for the financial planning community in Minnesota, as part of its "National Financial Planning Week."
