Produced by Academy Award winner Alex Gibney and based on Maggie Mahar\'s acclaimed book of the same title, the film offers an accessible, journalistically rigorous explanation of how the U.S. healthcare system went so terribly wrong and what it will take to fix it.
Just released in August, the 86-minute documentary reveals how the profit-driven "medical-industrial complex" drives costs up and quality of care down. Experts interviewed by the filmmakers encourage the public to become savvy medical consumers and health professionals to rescue their vocation from the corporate bottom line.

A short discussion will follow the screening. The film is part of “Labor in the Community” programming offered by the University of Minnesota Labor Education Service.
