Friday, Jan. 15, is the deadline to register for skills courses on Collective Bargaining and Introduction to the Labor Movement offered by the University of Minnesota Labor Education Service.
Collective Bargaining is offered in two sessions on Saturday, Jan. 23, and Saturday, Jan. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It covers preparing for bargaining, negotiations skills and engaging members and the community. Offered on the University of Minnesota campus, it also includes a bargaining simulation. It will be team-taught by Monica Bielski Boris, Amy Livingston and Russell Raczkowski. Tuition is $100.
Students will access Introduction to the Labor Movement online from anywhere, at anytime during the month of February. It provides an overview of the labor movement, including its structure, evolution and future directions. It will be taught by Russell Raczkowski. Tuition is $50.
