Fund created for family of St. Cloud State student

A fund has been created to aid the family of Jesse Dady, whose body was found in the Mississippi River last Friday. He was the son of Mary Dady, a member of OPEIU Local 12 and an employee of Painters District Council 82 for more than seven years.

Jesse was a student at St. Cloud University and was on the A honor roll studying biochemistry. The 21-year-old was last seen early March 25 in surveillance video. He was walking onto a railroad bridge over the river and police told local media they believe he may have fallen into the water about a third of the way across.

Divers spent 10 hours searching before the Stearns County sheriff’s office called off the effort. The family then hired a private company to continue searching for Dady. According to the St. Cloud Times, the company used sonar to identify an area near the Veterans Bridge. The Stearns County dive team was called to the area and the body was recovered.
