The bill, which would extend health coverage to millions of Americans, passed the U.S. House Saturday on a 220-215 vote. It was supported by four Minnesota Democrats: Keith Ellison, Betty McCollum, James Oberstar and Tim Walz.
The thank you rally and pot luck will be Thursday, Nov. 12, from 6:30 to 7:40 p.m. in the cafeteria at St. Paul Central High School, 275 N. Lexington Ave.
Speakers will include McCollum and Kim Ellison, wife of Keith Ellison.
The event also will recognize “volunteers from around Minnesota who have worked at the grassroots level to secure passage” of the landmark legislation, organizers said.
