Holiday Inn Select workers reject union

Workers at the Holiday Inn Select voted 71-42 to reject joining UNITE HERE Local 17.

The election, held June 8, was run by the National Labor Relations Board.

“We’re planning to file objections to the election,” reported Uriel Perez Espinoza, Local 17 vice president. “It’s been a typical campaign,” he said. “Management held mandatory meetings and one on ones . . . They were trying to brainwash people.”

If the NLRB finds merit to the union’s objections, another election could be held.
